I’m not sure about you all, but I am so excited for 2022! I would like to personally thank Club President Toni Anderson and the Task Force for entrusting me to lead the Club into the future as Useless Bay’s PGA Head Golf Professional. It was an intensive vetting process, and I cannot be more excited with the result.
I also want to thank my predecessor, friend, mentor, and boss Brion Lubach. There is not enough space to write in this article alone how much he has done for me, guided me, taught me, and instilled in me. There is no chance I’d be in this position without his guidance and perspective. THANK YOU, BRION! I could never repay you for what you’ve given me.
There are tons of new and exciting events and formats that we will be unveiling in the weeks and months ahead, so please stay up to date by checking your email regularly and visiting us at uselessbaygolf.com.
2022 is going to be full of challenges and obstacles, but rest assured, plenty of fun and golf will be had and you are all in good hands. My only request of you all is to be patient with me as there will be some aches and pains during this transition. To get the operation running in a smooth fashion, I will be focusing my efforts in the following areas in these first couple months:
- Member Relations
- Staffing
- Finalizing the 2022 calendar of events for distribution
- Merchandising (inventory, staging, etc.)
- Complete transfer of documents and accounts from previous operation
NOTE: Please let me know if you would like to be added or removed from the GHIN Handicap system prior to the new year!
Washington Golf membership is a calendar year period and ends on December 31. Clubs will have 30 days after the end of the year to make any adjustments to the roster, specifically inactivations.
The Inactivation Deadline for the 2022 season will be January 31, 2022. Washington Golf is not required to issue credits for any incorrect club transactions, including but not limited to members accidentally added, members added more than once, or members not inactivated before the Inactivation Deadline.
For those who don’t know me too well, you might find the following facts interesting…
- My wife Alex and I are expecting a baby girl in April 2022 (our first).
- My lowest score at Useless Bay G&CC is 65.
- I am a fantasy football NUT and am active in six different leagues.
- I grew up in Tacoma, WA and moved to the Island back in 2014.
