From the Boardroom
Dear Members,
As you may know, the Board approved a trial proprietary membership promotion that runs through May. We have had success with this in the past and this year is no different. As of this writing, there are already 7 participants in the promotion that started only a few weeks ago!
Our restaurant is the hub of the clubhouse and we hope that you frequently enjoy the menu and specials. Chef Wayne gets many favorable comments about his creativity. In a business environment where we find restaurant closures a constant, we are fortunate that our restaurant is ready to serve its members. The purpose of a quarterly food minimum is twofold: 1) to encourage use of the restaurant; and 2) to sustain the restaurant and its employees when the restaurant is underutilized. Therefore, it is logical and equitable that all members pay the same charge. The Board has approved that the same quarterly food minimum will apply to all categories of membership effective April 1, 2022. For those of you who have already purchased your yearly food minimum, there will be no additional charge.
Later this month, the Board will celebrate and appreciate one of our club’s biggest assets: our employees. Board members and their spouses will take on the employees’ roles by providing and serving them dinner, resuming an annual tradition that COVID interrupted. In past years, the employees have really looked forward to this event. We expect that this year will be no different.
The club improvements are underway. Two projects were completed in February. No doubt you have noticed that the entrance is more inviting, with its increased lighting and natural wood posts with stone bases. New flooring has been installed in the downstairs hallway and men’s locker room. Work continues in the locker room. Also, you may have noticed that work has begun on resurfacing the tennis courts and building pickleball courts. Your patience and understanding are very much appreciated as we work through these projects and look forward to the end result.
The Golf Shop continues to evolve and will celebrate its grand opening on March 15. Please be sure to attend. It should be a very festive event!
