Women's 18-Hole Association
Well, the winter has flown by, and we are one month from our season beginning. On April 5 at 8:30 AM we begin. We will have a meeting and a blind draw competition. Also coming up on Thursday, April 21 we have a great opportunity provided by the WSWGA. A golf workshop “Play YOUR best golf” will be offered at 2:00 PM in the Ballroom at the Club. This valuable event will be free and open to both the 18-hole and the 9-hole women’s groups. Put it on your calendar!
To prepare for that first kickoff meeting, our board and a few extremely helpful others have prepared a survey to accomplish several goals:
- Clarify what is bylaw governed and may need to be updated.
- Bring up to the table any motions that are standing and need revisiting.
- Prepare for discussions we may have in upcoming meetings.
- Introduce some possible changes in procedures.
- Get your valuable opinion so we as a board can move forward organized and knowledgeable.
You should have received an email by now and hopefully have completed and returned your responses. If not, please do this ASAP as we are meeting in a few days.
Note: In the last newsletter there was a misquote… For an additional cost we have a 3-day Invitational, and a 2-person event in August. It should have read “For an additional cost we have a 3-day Invitational, a 2-person match play event in August.” Sorry for the confusion.
Our Board will be meeting in March so if you have any agenda items you would like included, please contact me at Zebulun@aol.com or call (360) 341-1478.
History fun: so for all you rookies who are impressing all of the rest of us: In 1995 Karrie Webb was the first female golfer to earn over $1M in earnings in a single season. Furthermore, she did it as a rookie too! So, keep up that good work and show us all your potential.
