It is that time of year again – spring aerification of the greens, tees, and approaches is planned for March 21, 22, and 23 if the weather cooperates. The golf course will be closed on those dates. We will keep the Golf Shop informed if these dates need to shift a week earlier or later due to timing of the installation of the New Flowtronic Pumps and Mother Nature. We need two full days of sun. For the aerification of the fairways, our plan is to pull a core on the fairways April 4 – April 29 if turf conditions are firm enough. To be productive and efficient, we will close the golf hole we are working on. Thanks for understanding. 

Course Information

Besides mowing the golf course when conditions were favorable, we have completed several other tasks such as:  

1. Vented greens. 
2. Drained the irrigation pond in preparation for JT Madsen dredging out the pond. 
3. Helped move the trash pumps and hoses while JT was dredging. 
4. Top-dressed, fertilized, and seeded the turf damaged by JT’s equipment. 
5. Filled in tire ruts with sand and seed. 
6. Picked up the stump blocks on #15 and #17. 
7. Repaired #13 collar dam. 
8. Leveled out the drop area on #7. 
9. The Men’s Club Volunteers continued to remove the trees on the right of #17 rough, and continued to weed, prune, and remove vegetation around the Clubhouse and #1 and #10 flowerbeds.

Target Projects for March 2022: 

1. Install the new Flowtronic pumps for the irrigation system. 
2. Install the new Watermax 5000 Booster pump on the right of #1. 
3. Pressurize the irrigation system. 
4. Repair irrigation leaks, valves, and wiring that have failed. 
5. Remove the mulch piles adjacent to #13 restrooms. 
6. Fix the car stops behind #15 blue tee complex. 
7. Raise and lower irrigation heads/valve boxes throughout the golf course. 
8. Spray weeds, structures, bunker edges, and tree wells throughout the golf course. 
9. Repair the sunken hole on the right of #18 rough. 
10. Repair the collar dam on #17 green. 
11. Deep tine the greens – top-dress and solid tine the greens and tees – and aerify (pulling a core) and top-dress approaches.
