The Useless Bay Men’s Club meeting and competition was held on Wednesday, October 6. As the new chair, I facilitated this month’s meeting. Everyone thanked Kerry Miljour for chairing the Men’s Club meetings over the last year. He did an outstanding job. No new members were identified this month. Blane provided an update about course conditions. He mentioned that the greens had completely healed after nine days since they were aerated and sanded. Also, the fairways had been sanded and aerated. Additional sand may be added to the rough to improve those areas. Brion set up a step aside scramble for the post meeting golf competition. There were 30 players participating in 8 teams. Net team scores were very close with only 4 strokes separating first and last place. Congratulations to the winning team consisting of Bob McClain, John Welty, Mac Lamay, and Bill Haroldson. Also, congratulations to Bill Haroldson, who won the closest to the pin chipping competition on Hole 9. The next UBMC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 3. Hope to see everyone there!
