The Useless Bay Men’s Club held the monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 3. Blane provided an update about work being done to the golf course. He mentioned improvements to the hole #1 pond and stabilizing the hillside on hole #8. The drainage work on hole #18 is now 70% complete. Around the course, work has been done to improve water flow by lightly dredging the ditches. Fertilization will be done to all the greens and tee box areas. Blane’s team is working on installing irrigation pumps to use water from the artesian well, however, the area needs to be dredged to remove silt blocking the output area. This project is targeted for completion by February next year.

Brion set up a step aside scramble for the post-meeting golf competition plus a chipping CTP competition. There were 22 players participating. There were three teams that tied for first place with a net 65 score. The following were the winning teams and CTP winner:

• Team 1 – Dan Carter, Steve McManus, Mac LaMay, & Steve Schinnerer
• Team 2 – Walter Jernigan, Joe Perez, & Ron Norman
• Team 3 – Joe Simon & Larry Belskis
• The CTP chipping contest was won by Steve Bradley.

The next UBMC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 1. The Men’s Club attendees requested that the next team game be a Red, White, & Blue tournament. In addition, the group discussed if it was possible to have a Turkey shoot, which had been done in past years. Budget was discussed, and it was determined that sufficient funds were available to make this happen. Next team game may include Gift Certificates to be given to the 1st and 2nd place teams.
