Some information updates to let you know about. Leslie Dana has asked to be relieved of the Secretary obligation as life has gotten wonderfully too busy. We so appreciate the time she has served and look forward to golfing with her soon. The co-secretary Sandy Nelson has graciously agreed to take on the full position. Thank you, Sandy. Also, you may have noticed a change in our WSWGA rep; it is Cat Falkner. She is replacing Penny Knowles, who served many years in that position. We want to thank Penny for the years of faithful service and keeping up the affiliation with this great organization. Look forward to Cat’s plans to help us better understand and participate in the competitions that are always on our golf calendars. We will have a free golf clinic and WSWGA info time in late April.

History fun: After being denied amateur status in golf, former Olympian Babe Zaharias competed in the 1938 Los Angeles Open, which was a PGA event. Zaharias was the first to attempt to play in a professional men’s tournament, which wouldn’t be tried again for almost another six decades. After many other successful times playing in the PGA, Zaharias became the first American to win the British Ladies Amateur in 1947. Go Babe!
