Golf Shop Corner
I can’t believe February is already here! It’s been a whirlwind of a first month at the helm. I’m sure you can tell that the Golf Shop will have a much different look this year as orders start to come in. I can’t thank all of you enough for your support and for your patience as we iron out details and get things in order, so you can have a Golf Shop to be proud of!
Keep an eye on your inbox over the next couple weeks! We will be sending out a “Save the Dates” flyer that informs you of when Useless Bay’s “MAJOR” golf tournaments will be occurring during the year.
Soon after finalization, we will release the full calendar of golf events for the year. This calendar will contain many of your favorite events from years past, while mixing in some new formats for 2022. You can also check the “golf calendar” tab at uselessbaygolf.com. We will be slowly adding events to the golf calendar as we finalize them. A big thank you to The Odigo Group with their help in the process! You will start to notice a few new arrivals around the Golf Shop in the coming weeks, including a:
- Newly designed scorecard (with a simpler classic look).
- Much different merchandise selection (including clothing brands like Polo and SanSoleil).
- Variety of equipment and golf ball choices (specifically Titleist, which has been absent in recent years in the Shop).
If you are a Proprietary member and would like to store your clubs in the bag room, there are plenty of spots open! Reach out to the Golf Shop for more information! The cost is $15 per month.
The Golf Shop is looking to add another Golf Professional to our staff, as well as a Golf Retail Associate to the team! If you know anyone who may be interested, please email Andrew at andrew.ellis@uselessbaygolf.com.
Frost Delays
With so many new faces and as we head into the heart of winter, I think this is a great time to provide a few reminders for winter golf.
- PLEASE CHECK THE GOLF SHOP UPDATES PAGE AT USELESSBAYGOLF.COM. Part of our Golf Shop morning protocol is updating the website immediately after we talk to the greens crew. You can find weather forecasts, cart restrictions, and any other important information for the day.
- WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE FROST WILL “GO AWAY.” We do our best to update the current frost delay status every 15-30 minutes on the Golf Shop Updates page. It’s easy to get to it on your mobile phone or tablet, which reduces the number of phone calls and allows others with other questions to get through to the Shop.
