Course Information
The Golf Course has greatly improved in playability despite a significant amount of rainfall these last 3.5 months, totaling 19.8”. Several contributing factors helped firm up the Golf Course during the rainy season: the continued dredging of our ditches, removing vegetation/debris from in front of our culverts, and cleaning out debris/mud at the weir structure in the dike pond. The program to maintain the ditches along with the dike pumps running consistently will help keep our water table dramatically lower in the ditches, which means our drainage on the Golf Course is working effectively. Along with having the ditches sprayed by an Aquatic Licensed Applicator, which helped decrease the vegetation in the ditches, the fairways/rough were sanded in September/October. Since conditions were firmer, we were able to mow the Golf Course more often and allowed power carts on the fairways more frequently compared to the past years when the course was saturated.
Edging Landscape pavers - Brion Lubach working hard.
The Men’s Club Volunteers removed the two trees left of #15 green for safety reasons and Jeff Mingay’s recommendation. It’s great to have the Volunteers back; they continue to improve the playing conditions with their attention to detail of the Golf Course and Clubhouse area.
Target projects for the month of February will be to repair the collar dams on #13, #17, and #18 greens, prep the area for dredging the irrigation pond, and prep and install a cement pad for the booster pump on the right of #1 green.
Golf Course reminders:
- Please repair ball marks.
- Please keep the power carts on the cart paths to minimize any rutting alongside the cart paths.
- Thank you…
