Course Information

We had great weather for aerification of the greens, tees, and approaches on September 7, 8, and 9. With this new cultural practice of solid tining, our greens healed within 9 days of solid tining them. We also had perfect weather for aerifying and topdressing fairways. Instead of topdressing and solid tining the fairways, we pulled a core this time. This is the best cultural practice to reduce thatch  a little more labor intensive but well worth it. The crew did an outstanding job with aerification and Mother Nature cooperated.

Thank you, team!

#1 Pond - Final

#1 Pond

Hopefully, by mid to late October the turf growth will start slowing down so we can focus on other projects such as:

  1. Repair irrigation leaks and valves that have failed.
  2. Raise and lower irrigation heads/valve boxes throughout the golf course.
  3. Vent greens.
  4. Verticut and topdress greens.
  5. Verticut tees, approaches, and fairways.
  6. Install the fountain in the right of #1 pond.
  7. Paint and cut out areas around the fairways and approaches to make the golf course more playable.
  8. Topdress walk-off areas, the rough, and areas we would like to expand.
  9. Spray weeds, structures, flowerbeds, and tree wells throughout the golf course.
  10. Topdress the rough.
  11. Spray between the cypress tress to the road, and the fence line, to help reduce our labor in string trimming these areas.
  12. Install green tee stone in the fairways.
  13. Install drainage on the Driving Range, #16, #9, and #13.
  14. Hire an arborist to remove the poplar tree on the back right of #13 green.
  15. Stabilize the hillside on the left of #8.
  16. Remove the sludge from #16 pump chamber.
  17. Hire an Aquatic Herbicide Applicator to finish spraying the ditches and bull rush around our ponds.
  18. Continue to topdress the rough after aerification is complete with the fairways.

The Men’s Club Volunteers installed approximately 575 feet of pond liner around the pond on the right of #1.

Great job, volunteers!

Course reminders

  • Please continue to repair your ball marks and any others you see on the greens.
  • Please note whether power carts are on cart paths only or on fairways for the day as we head into the rainy season.
