Notes from the General Manager
September brought some significant changes to the Club. Karen Wix, who’s been our wonderful accounts receivable manager for 33 years, retired in September. We will really miss her. For those of you who’ve had the pleasure of working with Karen, you know what a kind, competent manager she’s been. With 33 years at Useless Bay, she has lived through so many changes, and has been invaluable to me and others as an unofficial historian for the Club. We wish her well in retirement! Karen graciously helped to train Jacque Baldwin (Member Services Manager) in the accounts receivable needs of the Club so that we will have a smooth transition as Jacque assumes Karen’s responsibilities. Jacque will continue to be the Member Services Manager as well.
The Useless Board has also changed. Three retiring board members (Colin Fleming, Bill Dana, and Jan Tepper) have been a pleasure to work with and have been part of the team that has guided the Club through the COVID changes while ensuring that the Club continues to move forward with improvements and innovations. I’d like to welcome the three new board members: Eileen Brennan, Steve Davis, and Bob McClain. And I’d like to acknowledge the new Board President, Toni Anderson. I look forward to working closely with Toni and the board to ensure that our Club remains successful and continues to get better and stronger.
Kindly,
Jason Youngsman
General Manager
